The Situation
NC John recognized growing global demand for sustainable textiles and the urgency of climate action. While operations already focused on natural or sustainable fibres, and they had early on taken a plunge for renewables, the company needed to measure, reduce, and offset emissions across its processes and supply chains. They needed guidance to establish credibility, secure stakeholder trust, and integrate climate strategy into business operations and growth.
Our Approach
We undertook detailed carbon accounting across scopes, identified hotspots, and developed decarbonisation levers. It is during our context study that we realized that if NC John leadership is committed, and willing to make some amends, they can become carbon neutral. Our approach provided NC John with a stepwise roadmap for reductions, offsetting, and reporting aligned with global carbon neutrality standards.
Understanding the Context
We analysed NC John’s operations and supply chain emissions, framing carbon neutrality within the industry’s natural advantages and the company’s aspirations for global competitiveness. We contacted various international agencies for carbon neutral certifications.
Guided Traverse
We guided NC John through baselining, reduction strategies, and offset frameworks, building internal understanding of carbon neutrality requirements and opportunities.
Transformation
NC John received carbon neutrality certification from an independent third party, which was one of the first’s in textile sector in Tirrupur. This enhanced credibility in global markets and positioned itself as a leader in sustainable apparel manufacturing.
